“Move to Improve” Kicks Off Monday: Learn How Bike Fun Can Contribute to Your Goal

The annual Move to Improve challenge, organized by Portage County CAN, will have its 2012 kickoff meeting on Monday, June 18 at the Schmeeckle Reserve Visitors Center.  Those interested can arrive anytime between 4 PM and 7 PM.

From the Portage County CAN website, “Move to Improve is a ten-week program aimed at increasing physical activity among Portage County community members which ultimately leads individuals to adopt a healthier and more active lifestyle.”

For Move to Improve participants looking for slow bicycle rides, Bike Fun created by Poky Pedaling Stevens Point provides excellent options.  Poky Pedals are always free and can count towards your physical activity goals.  At the Move to Improve kickoff event, I will be present handing out 2012 Bike Fun Calendars and answering questions you might have about Poky Pedaling Stevens Point.

Here are some other details from the Portage County CAN website:

  • There are both team and family versions of the Move to Improve challenge.
  • Participants in Move to Improve will receive T-shirts and have opportunities to win prizes.
  • The registration fee for each Move to Improve team or family is $25.
