Today is the first day of Spring. Spring brings anticipation of many things. For Poky Pedalers, anticipation of another season of Bike Fun is high on the list.

The 2013 Bike Fun Calendar will be posted here on the PPSP website in the next few weeks. The first of 10 Poky Pedals will take place in May, and the Bike Fun will continue into October.

I don’t want to give too much away yet, but you can count on several Poky Pedaling Potluck Picnics, a new historical ride, a couple of old favorite ride themes on new routes, plus more opportunities to explore the Stevens Point urban area. Our Bike Fun will embrace the artistic, the whimsical, the scenic, and the downright silly that is scattered about our little corner of Wisconsin.

If you’re desperate for a Bike Fun fix, check out the schedule of last year’s Poky Pedals and click through to their Bike Fun reports. Memories of visiting 5 ice cream shops in one afternoon, touring Historic Fire Station No. 2, and singing the Sesame Street theme song will certainly get Poky Pedalers in the proper spirit for another season of Bike Fun.

The arrival of Spring means that Poky Pedals will be here before you know it. Go get your tires pumped up now, because you will want to be ready when the Bike Fun starts. I look forward to sharing Bike Fun with you.
