UPDATED: This weekend brings the Maple Ride, our last Poky Pedal for 2013

[Update Friday 10/4 6:30 PM: The Maple Ride was originally scheduled for Saturday. Because of a forecast for heavy rain, it has been postponed until Sunday, which has a forecast for mostly sunny skies. This post has been updated to reflect the postponement to Sunday.]

The upcoming weekend provides the final opportunity in 2013 to share Bike Fun with PPSP. The annual Maple Ride is scheduled for Sunday October 6 at 12:45 PM. Poky Pedalers will meet in Iverson Park in the north parking lot near the slide set.

From there, we’ll head off on a 13 mile loop on calm streets and non-motorized paths. In contrast to last year when we rode east, this year we will head west seeking out streets named ‘Maple’, either in whole or in part.

We have the option to stop for a snack halfway through our Poky Pedal. Our stop will be near a place to purchase a snack, but you are also welcome to bring something along.

As is the case for all Poky Pedals, the Maple Ride is free of charge, there are no signups, and all Poky Pedalers are welcome. Simply arrive with your bicycle at the starting location and be ready for Bike Fun.

You can get a bit more info by looking at the upcoming Poky Pedals here and at the 2013 Bike Fun Calendar here.

For weather related information, read this blog post which includes the forecast for Sunday (as of Friday evening). That post and my Twitter feed are where to look if any further weather updates are necessary.

The Maple Ride will take place on Sunday, even if Saturday’s rain somehow vanishes. If the weather Sunday looks doubtful, check the website before heading over to the start to make sure the Maple Ride isn’t cancelled.

I look forward to sharing Bike Fun with you on Sunday.
