Bike Fun Report: June Poky Pizza Pedal

Earlier this evening, 31 Poky Pedalers turned out for the monthly Poky Pizza Pedal. Pleasant sunny skies greeted us as we assembled at Point Area Bicycle Service in anticipation of a delightful evening of Bike Fun.

Our route was a 4-mile loop to the southeast of downtown. After riding a couple of blocks south, we headed east on Ellis St. A jog south and east took us to Texas Ave near Copps. We took Texas south to Center St, which we then rode back to the west. At Wyatt Ave, we headed up to Jefferson St so we could cross Division St at a signal. We continued west, and then turned north at Elk St. Continuing north through a parking lot, we eventually came out on Clark St, where we crossed to our pizza destination at Kristin’s Riverwalk.

After locking our bicycles up to whatever we could find (unfortunately, there are no bike racks in the immediate vicinity), we went in and continued sharing Bike Fun over food and beverages. Kristen and her staff were wonderful in getting us set up and taking our food and beverage orders. I want to thank everyone at Kristen’s Riverwalk for enhancing our evening of Bike Fun. Every Poky Pedaler I talked with had a marvellous time.

Poky Pedalers won’t need to wait long before enjoying more Bike Fun with PPSP. The next Poky Pedaling Potluck Picnic takes place on Tuesday June 17. And on Saturday June 21, we’ll explore the Village of Whiting on a Poke-Around Ride. You can learn more about these on the Upcoming Poky Pedals page.

I had a great time sharing Bike Fun on this evening’s Poky Pizza Pedal. If you want to join us for the two remaining Poky Pizza Pedals, check out the 2014 Bike Fun Calendar. It lists all the Poky Pedals through October. In fact, you might as well make room on your schedule for all of them. After all, you’re going to want to savor every Bike Fun opportunity with PPSP.
