Bikes and art: CycleLove exhibit runs through June 7

Last night was the opening reception for CycleLove: The Art of the Bicycle at the Annette and Dale Schuh Riverfront Arts Center. A lively crowd turned out to view the dozens of bicycle-inspired artworks on display.

The variety of art was captivating. Framed works showed scenes depicting bicycles via photograph, drawing, watercolor, paint, collage, fiber, and more. Several sculptures were on display, many of which incorporated bicycle parts into their construction. Other pieces included bicycle-themed jewelry, glass, and ceramic. The collection of art at CycleLove certainly reflected an outpouring of love for bicycles by the contributing artists.

Attendees were encouraged to take these bicycle hanger cards and attach them to random bikes around the Stevens Point area

The CycleLove exhibit will run through June 7, so there is plenty of time for Poky Pedalers to stop by the Riverfront Arts Center to view these marvelous artistic expressions of bicycles. Hours of operation and other information can be found on this website.
