Bike Fun Report: June Poky Pizza Pedal

This past Wednesday, 20 Poky Pedalers took advantage of a sunny warm late-afternoon by sharing Bike Fun on the Poky Pizza Pedal.

Starting from Point Area Bicycle Service, our 4-mile ride headed over the Clark St bridge to appreciate the calm paths and streets on the west side of the Wisconsin River. We followed the Green Circle south along the river and then west up to W Zinda Dr near the Jackson School.

train delay

Waiting for a train is just part of the Bike Fun during the Poky Pizza Pedal

From there, we turned north to the sidewalk along W Clark St where we turned east. A train started crossing our path just as we arrived, so we had a delay of several minutes waiting for it to pass. Such a delay is of no concern when sharing Bike Fun, since that simply becomes an additional opportunity for Poky Pedalers to socialize.

Back on our bicycles, we cruised neighborhood streets both south and north of W Clark St before heading back over the bridge towards downtown and our pizza destination for the evening, Arbuckles.

Because of the great weather, we were able to gather on the outdoor patio to have our pizza feast. The staff at Arbuckles was wonderful as always in making certain our food and beverage needs were taken care of. I want to thank Arbuckles for allowing us to use their patio during our Bike Fun, as well as for their excellent service.

There are still two more Poky Pizza Pedals on the 2015 Bike Fun Calendar, so give it a peek to take part in those. While you’re there, you can also learn about the rest of the Poky Pedals scheduled through September. And the Upcoming Poky Pedals webpage will tell you what’s coming up in the next few weeks.

So make your plans so you don’t miss out on any of these Poky Pedals. I look forward to sharing Bike Fun with all Poky Pedalers over the months to come.
