On Friday evening, six Poky Pedalers enjoyed a nice bike ride and some yummy sweets on the monthly TGIF Dessert Ride.

From the Stevens Point downtown square, we rode our usual route over to the path through Pfiffner Park and then up to the loop around the pond in Bukolt Park. We were in Bukolt Park as the sun was setting, but unfortunately the skies were completely overcast (contrary to the weather forecast), so we missed out on a chance to view a nice sunset under a silvery half-moon.

Of course, life is uncertain, so Poky Pedalers simply make the most of whatever Bike Fun is available. We retraced our route back to the downtown square where we visited Square Scoops, our dessert stop. After our 3-mile relaxed bike ride through scenic parks, dessert was an ideal way to cap our Bike Fun experience.

As we approach September, opportunities to share Bike Fun with PPSP are dwindling. There will be one final TGIF Dessert Ride as well as the annual Maple Ride, where we ride around seeking out streets named “Maple” (in whole or in part).
