Fall has arrived. This Saturday looks to be a perfect day to savor the best of what fall has to offer on the annual Maple Ride, our final Poky Pedal for 2015.
The Maple Ride will meet on Saturday September 26 at 12:45 PM in Iverson Park near the Green Circle gravel path. From there, we’ll slowly ride a 13-mile loop on calm streets and non-motorized paths with a snack stop about halfway through. Poky Pedalers can choose to either bring a snack along with them or else purchase something at our stop location.
As always, the Maple Ride is all about seeking out streets named ‘Maple’, in whole or in part. This year, we will travel west in our search for ‘Maples’. I suppose there might be trees or other scenery that Poky Pedalers may enjoy between our ‘Maple’ encounters.
The Maple Ride is free, and all Poky Pedalers are welcome. Simply show up with your bicycle at the starting place and time and be ready to share some Bike Fun. If you’ve never been on a Poky Pedal before, you can read the Are Poky Pedals Family Friendly? webpage for some info about what to expect.
The weather forecast for Saturday looks exceptional. We should have plenty of sunshine with a light breeze and temperatures in the low 70’s. Saturday appears to be a perfect fall day for riding around town.
I suspect we will return to Iverson Park between 3:00 and 3:30 PM. Depending on Poky Pedaler preferences, after completing the Maple Ride we might have an impromptu Bike Fun Banquet at a nearby establishment to celebrate another year of Poky Pedals. The Bike Fun Banquet could range from simply getting ice cream to heading somewhere for food and beverages – it all depends on what Poky Pedalers want. If you cannot participate on the Maple Ride but would like to join us at the Bike Fun Banquet, contact me by the end of Friday (you can use the form below for that) and we’ll figure something out.
So don’t miss this final opportunity to share Bike Fun with PPSP this year. Come join our swarm of Poky Pedalers on the Maple Ride (and the impromptu Bike Fun Banquet) this Saturday.
