Whatever Happened to Mosey Creek?
Meet at 12:45 PM at Schmeeckle Visitor Center parking lot, ride at 1 PM
Learn the history of one of Stevens Point’s most infamous landmarks. The story will span from the land acquisition in the 1830’s from the Menominee, through the city’s various approaches to dealing with persistent flooding of the creek, and up to the recent creek restoration project in Schmeeckle Reserve. This 13-mile loop urban interpretive bicycle ride is an encore Poky Pedal from 2012.
October 5 Saturday (rain date: October 6 Sunday)
Meet at 12:45 PM at Iverson Park near slide set in north lot, ride at 1PM
A colorful fall day seeking out streets named “Maple”. This year we will ride towards the west side of our urban area. A slow 13-mile loop bicycle ride on calm streets and non-motorized paths. We will have the option to stop at a park about halfway through, so you are welcome to bring a snack to enjoy there.
